I'd probably be crying. Real loud. I'd be wondering how or why I was in this situation. I'd be thinking of ways to get out. I'd also be analyzing the situation. But then it might be hot do a swim would be nice.

Things taken for granted

There are many things we take for granted in today's world. Things that we think of as ordinary tools but that we would have a hard time surviving without. Things like cellphones used to instantly connect with each other through texts. Also one thing that is over looked a lot. The refrigerator. With out the ability to store food for weeks at a time people would be lost.

Struggle between individuality

People struggle with this topic a lot. Mostly teens. They want to fit in with the crowd instead of choosing their own path. They don't want to stand out because they are afraid if rejection or being made fun of. Transcendentalist believed in the power of the individual. In society today we need to be more comfortable with ourselves and our individuality.

Institutions on society

Institutions have big effect in society these days. The government basically controls everything but they make it look like we do. Then schools basically take up most parts of a teenagers life. Intpstitutions make society run smoother and more efficient.

Can a person be to determined?

Determination is a good thing to a certain point. But eventually it can turn into obsession. And obsession is not a good thing. Being to determined causes you to forget about other important things. It makes you lose focus of the things that are also important you.

Most important part of gothic literature

I think it's the ability to shock or frighten. Most people don't get the suspense and mystery. So they aren't really scared by it. But everyone is scared through just straight shocking the audience. Or throughout frightening descriptions.

"What can happen if a secret is kept to long"

Holding a secret for to long is not a good thing to do. Eventually you forgot it is a secret and you will tell someone. If not it will eat at you until you cant stand it anymore. either way keeping a secret is very hard. eventually you will have to tell someone.

Greedy people

There are lots of greedy people in this world. Some are greedy for food. Others for money. Mostly all of the people are greedy for money.  Greed is a bad thing. People will do anything to get what they want. One time I wanted some Jordan's. But they only had one size left. Then this guy took my shoe and bought it. I front of my face.

How speech is effective

A speech is effective when it completes the goal it was written for. It has to persuade the readers of what they believe in. It has to be able to change the readers view point to by using persuasive techniques.

What makes a good speech

A good speech is very hard to achieve. It needs to have a lot of good elements. First it needs to be right for the audience. They should be able to understand it fully. It should be able to reach to them. Also it has to have a good point not just something random. Another good attribute is that it should flow smoothly.

This pulls at my emotions. This is because the character is going thought a rough time due to bullies.These  speeches talk about never giving up and always finding a way. That no challenge is to big to overcome.

Speech

The best speech I've listened to would have to be from the movie " Independence Day". This speech was very memorable because it covered a lot of topics. It also talked a lot about the human race and the rights we have as humans. It explained a lot in a quick precise way which I also liked. 

Summary of overall findings

Pilgrims were early citizens of America and the first here. They came here seeking religios freedom. That was the very main reason that  they came here. Religion also had a very big impact o. Their daily life. They believed in witches and all that crazy stuff.

Early American research project

My topic is Native American oral histories. The purpose of the native Americans oral stories were mostly to inform of the value of nature. To show people how close they were to nature and all the animals. They explained the importance of living a nice and calm lifestyle. These oral speeches took the form of myths and legend stories. Such as "when grizzlies walked upright"

Qualities myth makers see in nature

The qualities that the myth makers see in nature in all these stories is caring and helping others. All the nature animals in the stories help to create life and humans. In "the earth on the turtles back" the muskrat helps to bring the earth that is needed to create the earth and help the sky lady survive.  In "When grizzlies walked upright" the grizzlies helped rescue and raise the chiefs daughter. Then the chiefs daughter and a grizzly helped to create the first humans which were Indians. And lastly in "The Navaho origin legend" the wind helps to bring life to the corn to creat human life. All in all nature helped to creat life. It was always kind and helpful.

Essential question blog #1

In stories made by people who respect nature I expect to find details about everything that concerns nature. This would include details about recycling or global warming. They would go in depth to the causes of these things and their outcome. Also they would talk about things to help reduce the impact we are having on the earth. Mainly pollution. They would also go in details about the nature lovers. Our the nature protesters. In the native Americans case they were very attached with nature. They believed nature was a spirit that controlled many things. They held ceremonies to honor the spirit. They also didn't believing in harming nature because it would in turn harm the spirit. The native Americans also didn't believe in wasting anything.
